We need your support to continue our struggle amid the difficult economic conditions Türkiye is currently facing.

Since establishing the um:ag Foundation in 1994, we have trained young journalists in the tradition of Uğur Mumcu, strengthened public awareness through the Justice and Democracy Week, and carried his ideas to new generations by publishing his works. We also continue to stand firm and persevere as a centre for ideas, culture and the arts.

Uğur Mumcu never abandoned his commitment to defending the truth and exposing corruption to the public, even though it ultimately cost him his life. His courage, principles and unwavering commitment to the people continue to illuminate our path today.

As the um:ag Foundation, established to preserve Uğur Mumcu’s legacy and pass the ideals of investigative journalism and democracy on to future generations, we need your support. We continue to train young journalists who embrace Mumcu’s courageous and principled approach to journalism. Through the Justice and Democracy Week, which we organise every year, we raise public awareness, while publishing Mumcu’s works enables us to share his knowledge and ideas with wider audiences.

Following Uğur Mumcu’s assassination on 24 January 1993, um:ag was founded by his family to preserve the principles that had cost him his life. Since 1994, the Foundation has struggled to survive through its Investigative Journalism Course, seminars and publishing activities. Despite the difficult paths we have travelled, we have succeeded in remaining active today, with more than 300 graduates of our Investigative Journalism Course, over 1,000 seminar participants and more than 100 publications.
